We procure all our materials from the local bogs adjacent to Croagh Patrick where it has been dug up in the course of improvement works. We follow the recommended procedure for drying the wood and finish as near as possible to its natural state. We have over 40 years of experience of working with all kinds of wood during a lifetime in construction and during the last 10 years we have been working with bogwood on a more regular basis. We were lucky to procure some historic (if not prehistoric) tree trunks from Clew Bay that were uncovered by the heavy storms of January 2014. These are currently drying out.
The other element to to our 
business is the design and marketing of the website which is carried out by Ray. Having spent much of his life taking photos as a hobby, Ray eventually made camerawork a full time job so all of the photographs we have on this site were taken by him. Ray also designed the logo you can see on the top left corner of site as well as the layout of the online store.
